This special service project is coordinated by one of our chapter’s executive board members, Theresa. This is what she has to say, “Following the Personal Safety and Awareness Youth Program event, OCA-NJ is hosting a crochet circle geared towards coming together to do crafty service projects, with the mutual interest in serving the community and discussing topics that affect the Asian American community.

There’s many organizations around NJ who are looking for handcrafted wares to give out as support items such as NJ Sharing Network, VNA House and some hospitals like handmade newborn baby caps. This group will meet quarterly to make the crafts they are seeking; as well as engage in discussions regarding Asian American topics, leadership, and how to support our community as a whole.

Don’t know how to crochet? Come learn from your new friends! Seasoned crocheters, bring your hooks, share some yarn with your new friends too. Light refreshments will be provided. Feel free to bring a shareable snack to pot luck.

Please contact Theresa by email at theresa.ocanj.cana@gmail.com for more information and the various ways to get involved.”
