August 1, 2016
Dear Virginia and Karen,
I want to congratulate you, your chapter, and the many volunteers for
producing a successful, meaningful National Convention. We’ve had great
ones in recent years, and 2016 was especially memorable for the Hudson
River tour and all the volunteers who made sure we made it safely to and
from the boat.
I think I speak for the Executive Council when I say we know how complex
planning a national event can be. Though the four days of behind-the-scenes
activity wasn’t visible, we know the sweat equity that goes into each hour at all
hours of day and night. We cannot thank you enough for what you all
accomplished-a smooth-running, enjoyable Convention.
Each day and evening, I took informal polls of attendees on their perceptions of the
day. To a person they reported how much they enjoyed sessions, meal events,
entertainment, and the meals. Oh, the meals-no mystery meat and well-chosen
menus. Jersey City has much to be proud of. I thoroughly enjoyed spending time
with you, John, and your sister.
We are very grateful for your high level of professionalism to get the job done. The
OCA family is fortunate to have New Jersey’s energy and expertise when it comes
to putting on a national event. Enjoy your well-deserved rest!
Best,
Leslie Moe-Kaiser
National President OCA
